WHEN RIVALRY ENCOURAGES GENEROSITY

The rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma has a storied history, and this year marks the inaugural "Red River Sharedown," between Texas Wesley and The Wesley at OU. This new tradition, when rivalry encourages generosity. Texas Wesley and OU Wesley, the United Methodist Campus Ministries at the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma, are coming together in a friendly competition to raise funds for their vital ministries!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• Pledge Per Point: Make a pledge based on how many points your team scores in the Red River Showdown on October 11, 2025. You can pledge through the form on this site, by emailing or texting your respective campus minister, or by sending in a check. Payments are due the week following the game.
  Example: If you pledge $10 per point and your team scores 21 points, you would donate $210 to your Wesley Foundation.

• One-Time Donation: Not a fan of uncertainty? You can also make a one-time donation of any amount to support your chosen Wesley Foundation. This option allows you to contribute to the ministries directly without waiting for the final score.

Pledges will be updated at the top of this page, allowing you to track how your ministry is doing. Both ministries will accept pledges until the end of the game, so if your team is down at halftime, it's not too late to increase your pledge and help your ministry secure a victory!

It's possible for one football team to lose the game, yet that school's ministry could win based on the total pledges!

The Wesley Foundations at the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma play a crucial role in the spiritual development of young adults on campus. Your pledges help fund our efforts to "Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World."

These ministries provide students with opportunities to participate in mission work, worship, and leadership activities, fostering their faith and helping them navigate the challenges of college life. Both Wesley Foundations create a welcoming and supportive community for hundreds of students, guiding them as they explore what it means to be a Christian in today's world.
