Janey grew up in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. She graduated from Lone Grove High School in 1997. She went to college at East Central University (ECU) in Ada, Oklahoma where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education in May 2002. During college, she worked closely with the youth group at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada. She was also very active in the United Campus Ministry (UCM) at ECU. She was on the leadership team and an evangelism intern. She went on numerous mission trips and served on leadership teams for various church summer camps.
It was during her time at UCM, she felt called to full-time Christian Ministry. She began fulfilling that calling prior to her college graduation at First Presbyterian Church (FPC) in Ada. She worked at FPC Ada for 5 years as their Director of Christian Education for Children, Youth & College. She also remained very active on the Board of Directors for the UCM. Janey became the Children’s Minister at Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa in July 2006. She also served on the Wesley Board at the University of Tulsa as well as on the Conference’s Standing Committee on Campus Ministry. She joined The Wesley Staff on July 1, 2008.
She loves to shop, talk, hang out with family and friends and most importantly loves to laugh! She is very excited to be on staff at The Wesley. She encourages students to give The Wesley a chance. "If there is anything you need, please don’t hesitate to let anyone on staff know. We want this place to feel like a home to all college students."
